A Nepalese sherpas will climb for the 20th time on Mount Everest, one of the climb purposes is to spread a part of the ashes of Sir Edmund Hillary - the first conqueror of the world's highest peak.
Apa sherpas, aged 49, holds the record for most ascents of Everest, already active with 19 such successes.
For the 20th ascent, he proposed, by his statements, three purposes:
- to promote Nepal as a tourist destination
- to clean up Mount Everest (whose pollution with waste left behind by many expeditions, became a big problem)
- to go there some of the ashes of Sir Edmund Hillary, first man in 1953, managed to reach the peak 8848 meters high.
Another part of the ashes were scattered in the ocean, the waters of New Zealand (country of origin of Edmund Hillary) by his family, soon after his death on January 11, 2008.
