Even if the Germans call it the Matterhorn, the Italians - Cervino and the French - Cervin, it is one and the same mountain who candidates for the title of the most dangerous mountain massif from the whole chain of the Alps mountains. Picturesque image gushing mountain like a white chimney to heavens country, actually hide a big killer of men. Symbol of the Alps, Materhorn cruelly punished the first attempt to conquer coming from the people. The first successful ascent was undertaken in 1865, when the expedition led by mountaineer Edward Whymper, succeeded in climbing the peak.

Mount Matterhorn


The mount, dosent left unpunished the bold of the climbers. On the way down, almost all Whymper companions fell into the chasm. Matterhorn was not satisfied with that. The interval of time between the years 1865-1995, the mountain called for sacrifice the lives of over 500 people. Among the dangers that lurk here, the most common take the form of avalanches suddenly aroused, agglomeration narrow trails, frequent falls of rocks and stones and extremely strong winds that often lead to unbalancing followed by falls in the chasm.
