The one I enjoyed the most was "The Mountain" with Spencer Tracy and Robert Wagner, and on the second place "The Sharp End"
Nordwand ( North Face) is an excellent movie - not only as a mountaineering / climbing movie, it's an excellent well made movie - period. I own it on Blu Ray - it looks and sounds fantastic in our home theater. Highly recommended!!!! |

Most of those are O.K., but I liked Seven Years in Tibet even though the mountaineering scenes were only about 5 minutes long. There's also The Man Who Skied Everest, more a documentary, but won an Oscar (1971 or so). That opening scene in The Day the Earth Stood Still (new one) was a surprise, and the end to The Bucket List was so touching. |
