Scarpa Inverno Mountaineering Boots - Men's - Specification

Midsole EVA insert
Support Thermoplastic shell
Outsole Rubber
Crampon compatibility Step-in
Average weight 5 lbs. 10 oz. / 2.55 kilograms
Gender Men's

Pros
  • Great grip
    - very stable with crampons (compatible with step-in crampons), dry with regular gaiters and, for the most part, are comfortable out of the box
  • Warm
    - keep your feet warm and dry, especially if you keep the liners in your sleeping back at night
  • Versatile
    - they are excellent with crampons and snowshoes
    - I'd recommend this as an all purpose, non-technical slogging boot
  • Durable
    - being a plastic boot however, they are incredibly durable, and hold up extremely well against almost everyone that one could put them through
  • Easy to put on & adjust
    - you must get it sized right by someone who knows their stuff (about 2 fingers behind your heel w/o sock) or your toes will hurt.
Cons

  • Heavy / bulky
    - being plastic, they are not great for the hike to the glacier
    - like all plastic mountaineering boots, they are heavy and clunky for walking on dry ground

Best Uses

  • Heavy snow
  • Alpine routes
  • Mixed routes

I have a pair of these and totally love them....so comfortable right out of the box. Use them for mountaineering & technical ice climbing and have had really good experiences with both.
